Michael P. Brady, CHBC

Mike began his healthcare consulting career in 1984 after holding upper-level management positions in the manufacturing industry. Positions held as Project Manager, Director of Design & Engineering, and Plant Manager provided Mike with a broad base of experience in all aspects of management.

After high school graduation, Mike attended Western Carolina University where he received his Bachelor's degree in 1978 and continued his education to obtain a Master's degree in 1984.

Mike holds the exclusive credential of Certified Healthcare Business Consultant (CHBC) and is currently the Past-President of the National Society of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants. Mike has also served on the Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Emergency Department Practice Management Associations (EDPMA), the Medical Group Managers Association (MGMA) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). He has contributed articles in Physicians Management and Medical Economics, and featured in an article in Fortune Small Business. He is listed as a Practice Consultant in the American Academy of Family Practitioners and a Who's Who Consultant by the American College of Gastroenterologist (ACG). Mike also serves as President of Healthcare Business Consultants.

Mike's practice management consulting experience covers a wide range of medical specialties in all practice operational aspects, and he has completed a large number of successful practice mergers, restructures and reorganizations of various sizes and types of practices. Mike serves clients in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

Deborah Summey, CHBC, EA

Deborah began her healthcare consulting career in 1989. In addition to providing consultation services, she has the overall responsibility for management of our accounting, tax preparation and retirement plan administration services, as well as firm systems administration.

Prior to joining the firm, Deborah had twelve years of experience in tax, accounting, benefits administration and firm management. She also taught taxation at a local community college. She is a Certified Healthcare Business Consultant (CHBC), is enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service and has passed the Uniform CPA examination.

Deborah graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a BS degree in Accounting. She also has an AAS degree in Business Administration. Deborah is a member of the National Society of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants, National Institute of Pension Administrators, Institute of Management Accountants (Past President, Asheville Chapter) and North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. She is active in community and civic affairs and serves on the board of directors for various nonprofit organizations.
